🔍 Internal Family Systems: My New Obsession

You know that in my coaching, I don’t stay surface-level.
We work with what’s underneath—the beliefs, patterns, protective strategies and old stories that shape how we show up.

That’s why I’m so excited to share that I’m currently being trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS)—directly by its founder, Dr. Richard Schwartz.

IFS is a therapeutic model, but it’s increasingly being opened up for coaches, facilitators and creatives. And honestly? It’s blowing my mind.

What is IFS?
At its core, IFS is a way of understanding ourselves as made up of “parts”—like the inner critic, the people-pleaser, the pusher, the avoider, the scared child, the rebel, the visionary.

But instead of trying to silence, fix, or fight these parts, IFS invites us to get to know them. To understand why they exist, how they’re trying to protect us, and what they need to soften. It’s incredibly compassionate work—and wildly effective.

Being trained directly by the creator has given me such a surge of confidence and clarity.
It’s like someone handed me a map for work I’ve already been doing intuitively for years—and now I get to go deeper with more precision, care, and power.

For those of you I’ve coached—you’ll likely recognise parts of IFS in how we have been exploring your reactive patterns, your inner protectors, or the parts of you that are tender and rarely voiced.

 Why this matters for coaching?

IFS gives permission to drop into the depth. To work with what's true rather than what looks polished on the surface.
And the fact that a therapeutic model like this is now being brought into the coaching world—it’s validating.
It’s liberating.
It’s giving me a new sense of freedom to trust the depth I already bring to my practice.

If you're curious about it for yourself, reply and I’ll send you a few resources I love. Or ask me about it in our next session—we can explore what parts are in the room together.
